Stalin admits I-PAC partnership, team starts work
It is official now. DMK president MK Stalin on Sunday admitted to partnering with poll strategist Prashant Kishor’s I-PAC (Indian Political Action Committee) for the 2021 Assembly polls.
Chennai
In his first public admission of engaging the poll strategist for the ensuing Assembly elections, which had happened a few weeks ago, Stalin said that he was happy to see many young and bright professionals joining them for the 2021 Assembly polls. Taking to social media to reveal his party’s deal with I-PAC, Stalin tweeted, “Happy to share that many bright & like-minded young professionals of Tamil Nadu are joining us under the banner of @IndianPAC to work with us on our 2021 election and help shape our plans to restore TN to its former glory!”I-PAC did not waste any time in acknowledging Stalin’s official announcement. Barely an hour went public, I-PAC tweeted; “Thanks Thiru @mkstalin for theopportunity. The @IndianPAC Tamil Nadu team is excited to work with DMK to help secure an emphatic victory in 2021 elections and contribute in putting the state back on the path of progress and prosperity under your able leadership.”
DT Next had reported weeks ago that DMK organising secretary and a representative of I-PAC had formalised the deal at Stalin’s house in the presence of a member of YSRCP deputed by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy who was instrumental in convincing a reluctant DMK leadership to engage professionals to do poll engineering for the mother of all Dravidian political parties in the state.
Stalin’s DMK has joined the likes of Nitish Kumar’s JD(U), Congress in Punjab (Amrinder Singh), Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena and Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSRCP who have successfully engaged the strategists to capture power. If sources in the party are to be believed, I-PAC would not confine itself to media management and brand building for DMK and Stalin. The team is also expected to identify and prepare a list of strong candidates for each constituency for 2021 Assembly polls. Going by information trickling out of Anna Arivalayam, I-PAC is in the processof recruiting people forthe assignment.
