‘Shut Tasmac shop at Sengundram’
The SreeVaari Nagar Residential Welfare Association (SNRWA), Sengundram Village, Chengalpattu Taluk, has moved the Madras High Court seeking to close a Tasmac shop despite the Grama Sabha adopting a resolution against it.

SNRWA, Deputy Secretary, Murali, in the PIL had submitted that a liquor Shop with bar is being run amidst a residential colony and it is also within the prohibited distance. He also cited the resolution of the Grama Sabha, Kattankulathur dated 15.08.2018 and sought the authorities to take congnisance of the resolution and order closure of the Tasmac shop. Based on this, a division bench comprising Justice M Sathyanarayanan and Justice R Hemalatha ordered notice returnable by March 2.
