The state Congress party has constituted the property protection and recovery committee comprising 11 members.
Chennai
Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president KS Alagiri on Wednesday announced the 11-member committee comprising former Theni MP JM Haroon, party treasurer Nasey Ramachandran and spokesperson R Gopanna. A statement issued by the TNCC president said the committee has been constituted with the consent of the All India Congress Committee (AICC).
The first meeting of the committee would be held at party state headquarters Sathyamurthy Bhavan at 11am on March 6. The committee would be entrusted the task of overseeing the management of TNCC’s properties spread across the state. The committee reconstitution happens in the backdrop of speculation in the party circles about difficulty in tallying accounts for the expenditure incurred during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections campaign.
