Charred body of woman found in Tirupur

The body was found burning by passer-by at Anna Nagar area near Karaipudur in Palladam area in the morning. The public immediately doused the fire.

The Palladam police rushed to the spot and collected the remains of the charred body and sent if for post mortem at Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH). “Public noticed the body burning. The identity of the woman could not be known as her body was burnt completely. We suspect that the victim was kidnapped, murdered and her body chopped before being set on fire,” police said.

As the woman was burnt using petrol, the cops are inquiring the petrol bunks in the area. “We are checking if any woman missing complaint has been filed in any of the police stations in Tirupur and neighbouring districts. Also CCTV’s fixed in the locality were being scrutinised to trace down the culprits,” police added.
