DMK president MK Stalin, in a statement, also asked the state not to collect last month’s electricity consumption charges, particularly from MSMEs by announcing it as disaster relief to them.
Many has lost their livelihood and adding to the woes of the consumers, the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) have charged four months’ bill together from February to June, which had put severe pressure among the people to pay the amount at a single shot, he said.
Seeking clarity from the government on the calculation of consumption charges, the DMK leader alleged that TNEB has not taken readings correctly with many people have complained about it. “The new tariff slab bill collections have affected many people,” he added.
“Despite paying the previous month’s electricity bill, the TNEB has asked many to pay the same bill with the current one,” he said.
Demanding the state to resolve all the confusions that have arisen in the electricity bill payments, Stalin said “the government should bring out a proper solution to give concessions accordingly so that the people will not be affected.”
“Instead of solving people’s issues, the AIADMK government has kept a huge rock in the form of electricity bill on the people’s head,” he alleged.
