CM office under scanner as four more staff test +ve
AIADMK workers in Chennai are upset as four more corona cases were reported on Thursday from Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami’s office, sources said. This comes a day after Palaniswami’s Special Secretary BJ Damodharan and a Inspector S Balamurali succumbed to coronavirus.

Those working with Higher Education minister K P Anbhazhagan for COVID relief measures are also under duress as unconfirmed social media reports surfaced that the Minister is admitted to a private hospital over symptoms. Party workers are also miffed as Thennappan, a popular AIADMK functionary in Triplicane, is critical after being affected by the virus.
However, sources close to the Minister denied the reports and claimed that he underwent a routine check-up after being dehydrated post participation in corona review meetings. “The Minister is healthy and general tests were conducted. The results are awaited,” said an AIADMK senior close to the Minister. Health minister Vijaya Baskar is also following up on cases related to the corona infection at the CM’s office, the source said.
Following the infections, government buildings housing the CM chamber and minister’s offices have been cordoned off and public movement is restricted inside Fort St George.
