Ulundurpet vehicles plying without paying toll tax
Kallakurichi district is witnessing a rapid rise in the positive cases of Covid-19 in the recent days.

Seven staff members of toll plaza in Sengurichi near Ulundurpet have been confirmed to be infected with COVID 19.
The Tamil Nadu Toll wokers Union's General Secretary, Carol Marx has announced that the workers in toll plaza do not have adequate safety and that they need to be examined if they are infected with coronavirus immediately. He said that the toll plaza should remain shut till the situation is contained.
In this situation, Ulundurpet Tahsildar Kadar Ali has directed the toll plaza be shut till 20 July, considering the workers' health. He has also instructed that all the staff members be examined for coronavirus infection at the toll plaza and that the toll plaza be reopened on confirmation of negative result on the virus.
Following these developments the staff members of the toll plaza were asked to leave at around 2:30 on Friday. All the vehicles plying between Trichy and Chennai had a free pass at the deserted and unattended toll plaza.
