Youth murders girlfriend for not speaking to him, attacks her dad too

C Ratheesh (20), a resident of MR Garden near Perur in Coimbatore, working as a mechanic in a motor winding unit had an affair with a girl from the locality who was studying second year B Com.

Since their parents came to know about the affair reached their respective parents, they had warned the duo. After the warning, the girl stopped speaking to Ratheesh. Even after several attempts, Ratheesh could not meet the girl and so on Friday, he went to the house of the girl and called her out of the house.

However, the girl did not come out and the furious Ratheesh had reportedly stabbed the girl by getting into the house injuring him severely.

On hearing the girl’s screams, her father came to the spot but Ratheesh also attacked him with the knife and escaped from the spot.

Soon, the neighbours rushed both father and daughter to the Coimbatore General Hospital for treatment. However, the girl succumbed to her injuries on Saturday while the father is still under treatment.

The Perur police has registered a case and are searching for Ratheesh who is absconding.
