A senior official from the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), which is conducting engineering admissions, said 1,14,206 candidates have uploaded their documents. In all, 1,60,834 candidates had enrolled online.

“So far, students had to visit facilitation centres to verify their certificates. But due to COVID-19 pandemic, it has been decided to check the documents online to ensure the safety of the candidates,” he said. Students have been asked not to visit facilitation centres for certificate verification. “If any clarification is needed on uploaded certificates, the respective centre will contact the students on their registered mobile number and email,” he said.

Officials deputed to more than 50 facilitation centres set up across the State would prepare detailed data about online certification so that the rank list could be declared.

“All the data will be compiled and then the rank list will be released on September 7,” he said, adding that the multi-round counselling process would start from September 17. The total number of counselling rounds would be decided according to the pandemic situation so that all the SOPs would be followed.

“Usually, there will be four or five rounds of counselling, each with more than 10,000 students attending it,” the official said. This year, however, to ensure that social distancing, more rounds of counselling could be organised, he said.
