Three of six involved in gang-rape of migrant woman worker in Tirupur arrested
The Tirupur police on Wednesday night arrested three of the six persons involved in the gang-rape of a woman from Assam on the pretext of helping her get a job.

Police said the victim, aged 22, was living alone due to some issues with her husband, in Saravanampatti area. She had approached Rajesh Kumar, 25 from Kungumapalayam near Palladam in Tirupur for a job.
On 28 September, she met Rajesh Kumar, who took her to a few companies for an interview. Then, as it turned late evening, Rajesh Kumar asked his friend, Tamil, to drop her at the bus stop.Instead of taking her to the bus stop, Tamil took her to a secluded place in Kallimedu area, where a group of people sexually assaulted her. They also snatched her mobile phone and cash before fleeing from the spot.
The victim had sought help from residents in the neighbourhood, who then informed police about the incident. Following this, the police rescued the woman and admitted her to the Tirupur Government Hospital for treatment.
Based on her complaint, the Palladam police arrested Raju, 23, Anbu Selvan, 22 and Kavin Kumar, 25, all hailing from different areas in Palladam on Wednesday night. A search is on to nab Rajesh Kumar, Tamil and Damodaran, who are on the run. Further investigations are on.
