Will expose mystery behind Jaya’s death if voted to power, says Stalin

Referring to the reported letter judge Arumugasamy, who heads the commission of inquiry probing Jayalalithaa’s death, had written accusing the state advocate general of not showing interest in vacating the stay on the commission’s probe, Stalin said the sitting AIADMK Ministers or O Pannerselvam who became chief minister after Jayalalithaa’s death or incumbent Chief Minister Palaniswami have frozen the commission of inquiry for power and they were not ready to expose the mystery behind Jayalalithaa’s death.

Detailing the dramatic political changes in the AIADMK since Jayalalithaa’s death to the recent announcement of EPS as the chief ministerial candidate of the ruling alliance, the DMK president said, “Investigation of the death mystery will pan out into a long episode that could drag Poes Garden, Apollo hospital, Fort St George and even Raj Bhavan into it. People are aware that the EPS regime was hesitant on the issue only because of that.”

Power-obsessed EPS and OPS had constituted the commission of inquiry for the sake of it and they are playing a political game to cover up the mysteries behind their leader’s death during the last three years, remarked Stalin.

Stalin added that O Panneeselvam who became deputy CM by launching the first edition of Dharma Yudham has now given up on the second attempt and acquiesced CM candidature to EPS by allying with the party after he was reminded of the summon of the Arumugasamy commission of inquiry and a few other reasons.

Stalin also reiterated that a probe would be conducted into the mystery behind Jayalalithaa’s death and those responsible for it would be brought to books after the DMK forms government next year.

DMK president MK Stalin on Sunday urged Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami to make efforts on a war footing to design constructive employment schemes to cater to the needs of rural and urban youths.

Accusing EPS of bragging about MoUs signed with firms to divert public attention from the government’s failure to bail out the state from the job cum income loss and economic paralysis suffered due to the pandemic, Stalin charged the CM with not revealing the actual investment attracted by the state through the MoUs.

He also said the CM should make constructive efforts to increase job opportunities in rural areas instead of engaging in diversionary tactics and deceiving the youths who lost jobs.

Recalling the reported suggestion of C Rangarajan that MNREGA like scheme should be designed for urban Tamil Nadu, the DMK president said the AIADMK regime has not acted on the recommendations of the former RBI governor led the committee which tabled a 250-page report on the ways to improve the state’s economy nearly a month ago.

Asking the CM to take necessary steps to create required jobs in rural and urban Tamil Nadu to avoid incurring the wrath of frustrated youths who have lost jobs, Stalin said the CM was committing a big mistake by not taking cognizance of the job and income loss suffered by youths in rural and urban Tamil Nadu.
