    CM lays stone for Collectorate buildings at Chengalpattu, Kallakurichi districts

    Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Friday laid foundation stone for the construction of Collectorates for the newly formed districts of Chengalpattu and Kallakurichi.

    The Collectorate in Chengalpattu district will be constructed in Venbakkam village at the cost of Rs 119.21 crore. The building which will be constructed in 27,062 square feet will house a ground floor and four storeys.

    The Collectorate building will include departments such as revenue, PWD, rural development and panchayat raj, cooperation, food and consumer protection, social welfare, Adi Dravidar and Tribal welfare, Backward classes welfare, district employment office, treasury, ELCOT and the office of Chief Education Officer (CEO).

    The Collectorate in Kallakurichi district will be constructed in Veeracholapuram village at the cost of Rs 104.44 crore. The building which will be constructed at an area of 26,482 square feet will have a ground floor and eight floors.

    Along with all the regular departments, the Collectorate in Kallakurichi will also include passport office, district tourism office, horticulture department and registrar office.

    SLEW OF NEW PROJECTS

    Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Friday inaugurated seven new projects worth Rs 1,298.20 crore across the state. The investments together provide employment to 7,879 persons.

    THE SEVEN PROJECTS ARE:

    • Wheels India Pvt Ltd’s investment worth Rs 600 crore in Thervoikandigai in Tiruvallur to provide employment to 1,800 persons
    •  Salcomp Pvt Ltd in Sriperumbudur with investment of Rs 500 crore to provide employment to 5,600 persons 
    • Dindigul Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd (Phase-I) in Dindigul with investment of Rs 70 crore to accommodate 150 persons
    • Power Gear Pvt Ltd in Walajapet in Ranipet district with investment of Rs 37 crore to provide employment to 90 persons
    • Mudhra Fine Blanc in Irungattukottai in Kancheepuram with investment of Rs 12.7 crore covering 100 persons
    •  Nash Industries Pvt Ltd in Vallam Vadakal in Kancheepuram with investment of Rs 56.5 crore providing employment to 100 persons
    • Shell Bearings and Bushings in Sriperumbudur with investment of Rs 22 crore staffing 39 persons 

    FOUNDATION LAID FOR 9 NEW PROJECTS

    • Chief Minister also laid foundation for nine new projects worth Rs 10,062 crore covering 8,666 persons
    • Industrial Training Centre of Hyundai Motors in Iruganttukottai with investment of Rs 150 crore 
    • Solar module manufacturing plant of Vikram Solar Pvt Ltd in Oragadam with investment of Rs 5,512 crore 
    • Setting up Logistic park by Integrated Chennai Business Park (DP Word) in Vallur village in Tiruvallur with investment of Rs 1,000 crore 
    • Dindigul Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd (Phase-II) with investment of Rs 300 crore
    • Wind and Thermal power plants by Shreevari Energy Systems in Melakarandhai village in Thoothukudi district with investment of Rs 250 crore
    • Earth breaking equipment manufacturing plant by Chennai SSSS Equipment in Mailam in Villupuram with investment of Rs 50 crore 
    • City gas distribution scheme by Adani Gas in Tirupur, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam and Tiruvallur districts with investments worth Rs 2,000 crore 
    • Philips Carbon black plant in Thervoikandigai in Tiruvallur with investments worth Rs 600 crore 
    • Pumps manufacturing plant by Aquasub Engineering pvt ltd in Kallipalayam in Coimbatore with investment worth Rs 200 crore
