DMK president MK Stalin on Saturday said the collapse of the under-construction ceiling of Namakkal govt medical college hospital building has exposed rampant corruption in even floating hospital tenders in the AIADMK regime.

Stalin also cautioned that such tenders floated in various departments by AIADMK ministers to mobilise election funds would be cancelled and subjected to inquiry after the DMK returns to power. Remarking that Namakkal incident was proof of substandard construction of hospitals for treatment of poor and middle-class people, Stalin expressed shock at the ceiling collapse reportedly injuring a few people while under construction and said that it was worrisome as to what would be the condition of the building after a few years.
Accusing AIADMK ministers of engaging in rampant corruption to mobilize funds for the ensuing Assembly election, Stalin said the days are fast approaching to scrutinize every tender floated by the incumbent ministers, mainly health minister Vijayabaskar, local administration minister S P Velumani and state electricity minister P Thangamani.
Stalin who is also the Leader of Opposition also cautioned that all tenders floated for the commission would be cancelled and probed as soon as the DMK forms government with the overwhelming support of the state people soon. He also added that the officers who support the corruption of ministers floating such tenders to mobilise funds for election would also not be spared in the DMK regime.
Alleging that it has been demonstrated beyond doubt to the state people that the AIADMK regime, which brags about getting approval for new medical college hospitals, floats tenders for substandard works to engage in corruption, the DMK president said the tenders were being floated on commission basis and orders issued for ministers to swindle money.
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and his ministers, who thrive on corruption, do not bother about ensuring the safety of government buildings, especially hospitals where people would get treated and students pursue medical education.
