MBBS counselling in State likely to begin from Nov 18
The MBBS/BDS counselling for medical aspirants in the State is likely to commence on November 18, while the rank list will be released on November 16, Health Minister C Vijaya Baskar said on Thursday.

He stated that 34,424 applications have been submitted so far for admissions to 4,061 MBBS seats available in Tamil Nadu, after the new medical seats were approved by the National Medical Commission.
“A total of 395 medical seats, including 304 MBBS seats and 91 BDS seats are available under the 7.5% quota for NEET qualified government school students and students applying for Siddha medicine can also take admission under the same,” the Minister said. Regarding NEET counselling, the Minister said that 500 students will be called for counselling on a single day to prevent overcrowding.
Meanwhile, 108 new ambulances were launched for Rs 103 crore on Thursday. Earlier 958 ambulances were available and now the total stands at 1,300.
