TN Elections 2021: Udhayanidhi to kickstart campaign from Friday

Actor and scion of the former CM M Karunanidhi family, Udhayanidhi Stalin has planned to start campaigning for DMK from Friday.

DMK has dug its heel to win this election to get back to power after a decade.

Party cadres too are delighted about Udhayanidhi's involvement in politics, they feel his presence were one of the crucial factors in DMK's thumping win in 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

He will campaign in the capacity of DMK's Youth Wing Secretary for the probable CM candidate and his father MK Stalin.

The Dravidian major is busy strategising for the upcoming elections.

Udhay has charted out a 100-day campaign schedule starting from Thirukuvalai, the hometown of DMK's late patriarch M Karunanidhi.

DMK has its work cut out with new parties looking to cash in the anti-incumbency votes which could dampen DMK's vote share.

Moreover, talks are rife that BJP is looking to rope in DMK's former MP and M Karunanidhi's elder son MK Alagiri whose disgruntlement led to his ouster from the latter in 2014.

If MK Alagiri chooses to join the saffron party it could cause a bit of a disconcertment in the DMK camp.

The Dravidian party has a lot of hurdles to cross before they could taste victory.
