Kancheepuram Police conducted a surprise security drill on riot prevention in Walajabad in the presence of the public to make them aware of the activities carried out by the police during the riots.

In order to create an awareness among the public, about the measures conducted by police to contain unexpected riots, the Kanchipuram police conduced a mock drill at Walajabad bus stand.
Various measures including the usage of pellet guns, smoke bombs etc were demonstrated and the special water cannon Vajra was also brought.
The police used water canons to disperse the ‘crowd’ and to turn off an effigy that was set on fire.Â
Kanchipuram’s SP D Shanmuga Priya oversaw the drill and the people who demonstrated the protest were also taken to the government hospital as a part of the drill.
