    DMK and allies to hold protest against BJP led-government on September 20

    The UPA allies had earlier called for a protest against the central BJP government. Accordingly, the DMK-led allies in the state have decided to hold a black flag protest on September 20.

    According to a statement issued by the leaders of the coalition parties, including the DMK, "The Congress leader Sonia Gandhi had chaired a video conference with opposition leaders recently, to discuss agricultural laws, rise in petrol, diesel and cooking gas prices, economic devastation, privatization and unemployment. Following which it was decided unanimously, to hold protests across the country from September 20 to 30, to condemn the anti-people and anti-democratic actions of the central BJP government, including the privatisation of PSUs and the Pegasus row".

    "Hence, the DMK-led coalition parties in the state have joined hands to carry out a black flag protest in front of their homes at 10 am on September 20, condemning the actions of the Central government".

    The DMK alliance partners who will be participating the protests are, Dravida Kazhagam, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee, MDMK, CPI, CPM, IUML, VCK, MMK, TVK and KMDK.
