CHENNAI: AIADMK coordinator and former chief minister O Panneerselvam on Wednesday urged the DMK government to reduce the fuel prices as per the poll promise. The AIADMK leader, in a statement, also urged the State to prevail upon the Union government to reduce the fuel prices on its part. “The DMK, in its poll promise, assured the people that the petrol and diesel prices will be reduced by Rs 5 and Rs 4 per litre respectively, but it has decreased only petrol price by Rs 3,” he pointed out. Panneerselvam said since 11 months after DMK came to power, the petrol and diesel prices increased by Rs 17.78 and Rs 14.38 per litre respectively. He pointed out that the Centre had reduced the petrol price by Rs 5 and diesel price by Rs 10 six months back.
