CHENNAI: As the repair works of the ransacked school in Kallakurichi's Kaniyamoor will begin soon, the school is expected to be fully functional in a month, according to the Daily Thanthi reports. The building is soon expected to be handed over to the respective authorities of the school, according to sources.

The private school turned into a hotbed of violence on July 17 on the heel of a suspicious death of a Class 12 student on July 13. Vans were set ablaze and the buildings were damaged as the protests turned violent.

The Madras High Court bench led by Justice GK Ilanthiraiyan had ordered bail to the two teachers, secretary Shanti, correspondent Ravikumar and principal Sivasankaran against a bail bond of Rs 10,000. The court arrived at the verdict as there was no substantial evidence leading to the "rape and murder" theory.

In addition to this, the secretary, principal and correspondent were asked to sign at Madurai and the two teachers at Salem.

Once the repair works are done students from Classes 5 to 8 will have regular classes and it will subsequently extend to the Class 1 to 4 students.

As a stopgap measure, Classes 9 to 12 students are attending offline classes through alternative arrangements and the rest are taking online classes.
