Student attempts suicide after losing Rs 75K to online rummy
The boy has been admitted to a private hospital in Attur and an inquiry is under way by Attur Rural police.
COIMBATORE: A 20-year-old college student attempted suicide as he lost Rs 75,000 playing online rummy in Salem.
Police said S Suryaprakash, son of a farmer from Sathasivapuram village near Talaivasal and studying second year at a private engineering college in Deviyakurichi consumed poison on Tuesday. He was depressed over losing the amount, which he had kept for paying fees in college, by playing online rummy.
The boy has been admitted to a private hospital in Attur and an inquiry is under way by Attur Rural police.
