Interim stay against Savukku Shankar from making false charges

CHENNAI: Justice CV Karthikeyan of Madras High Court on Friday granted an interim stay against YouTuber Savukku Shankar restraining him from making baseless allegations against a multi-crore real estate company.
The judge passed the order on hearing a criminal defamation suit filed by the realtor represented by Vivek Anandan - an authorised person of the company.
The petitioner sought direction to bar Shankar from making accusations and false charges against the company. The company sought damages to the cost of Rs 1.10 crore from Shankar.
According to the petitioner, due to baseless allegations and false indictments of Shankar, about 28 people had withdrawn their advance payments made to the company. The company further noted that they incurred a loss of Rs 15 crore and claimed that they had not faced not such a situation in the past ten years.
The G Square's advocate also informed the court that the defendant made a charge against the company about the recent visit of CM MK Stalin to Pollachi, while the company have no projects in the town.
Recording the submissions, the judge granted an interim stay and directed Savukku to file a response on September 30.
