T’malai police recover 7 stolen panchaloha idols, arrest two youth

TIRUVANNAMALAI: Vanapuram police during a vehicle check detected the possession of 7 panchaloha idols by two youth. Vanapuram police were checking vehicles, when they questioned two youth on a motorbike and when they fumbled in their replies they were taken to the police station where under interrogation they confessed to possessing 7 panchaloha idols. As 10 such idols were found missing from a temple near Thanipadi in the district two months ago, police took them to the Thanipadi temple to check whether the seized idols were the same as those missing from the temple for which Thanipadi police had registered a case. Further investigations are continuing at Thanipadi police station, sources said.
