DMK Files: 'Will file case against Stalin for taking bribe'
State BJP chief hinted that he will also expose the scams and corruptions involving AIADMK leaders ahead of 2024 LS polls
CHENNAI: State BJP president K Annamalai on Friday said that he would lodge a complaint with the CBI against Chief Minister M K Stalin for allegedly taking a bribe to the tune of Rs 200 crore from shell companies to favour the phase I of the Chennai Metro Rail project to USA based MNC at the fag end of the DMK's previous regime (2006-2011).
"The then deputy CM (M K Stalin) received the bribe amount to fund the election campaign for the 2011 polls. I will file a complaint with the CBI against him since the project involves Central Government funding, " he told the journalists at Kamalalayam after releasing a short video 'DMK Files' and listed out the assets of the CM, his families and senior DMK leaders and ministers.

"The assets of the top 11 DMK leaders and their family members are worth Rs 1.34 lakh crore, " he said and wondered about the exponential growth of the CM's son Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies in the last couple of years and alleged that the DMK first family was also raking in money through real estate and distilleries owned by DMK functionaries.

He called it the first part of the campaign in exposing the senior leaders, MPs and MLAs of the parties that ruled the state all these years. It would continue till the Lok Sabha polls in 2024. "It will not be fair to expose the exponential growth of one party alone. We will release similar files of other political parties that ruled the state, " he said and alluded that the AIADMK party would not be spared.

Proclaiming that he was the only politician after Independence released his asset and source of revenue in the nation, Annamalai said none can stop him from his campaign to unmask corrupt politicians. "If anyone wants to stop me from doing so, they have to go to Delhi to remove me from the (state president) post, " he said.
Stating that only two persons in India bought Rafale watch that remained a bone of contention since TN electricity minister V Senthilbalaji took a potshot on Annamalai that an "humble" man with "four goats" wears an expensive watch, the former IPS officer-turned-politician said he bought the watch from Coimbatore based businessman Cheralathan Ramakrishnan on May 27, 2021 for Rs 3 lakh. He flaunted a paper, purportedly an invoice, as a proof of his purchase.
"I am spending Rs 7 to Rs 8 lakh per month, " he said and continued that his friends are helping him with monthly expenses and they were paying his house rent, salary of three of his personal assistants and other expenses.
Unveiling a poster of padyatra 'En Mann En Makkal' (My land My people) in the first or second week of June this year, he said and urged the people to participate in the campaign to uproot corruption in the state.
