Active Covid cases nearing 200 in Tamil Nadu

The State Health Department saw 193 active cases of COVID-19 in the State on Saturday, with a surge of about 80 active cases in a fortnight.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,44,60,523 and the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.18 per cent.

Active cases of COVID-19 in the State stood at 17 with the highest number of 4 active cases reported in Chennai.

Six districts including Chennai reported one case of Covid each.

Prakash said that the COVID-19 positivity rate has reduced from 30 to nine per 100 persons.

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister announced that the passenger trains and private buses will be permitted to operate from September 7.

The Tamil Nadu Government has announced that all the state government offices will be functioning for 6 days per week, till the month of December.
