The brothers worked hard and prospered.
The first son got married but the second one remained a bachelor. One night, he lay awake thinking of his brother. “He has six children.
He has more mouths to feed and deserves more than a fair share of the farm. I shall give him more.” That night, he carried a bagful of wheat and left it in his brother’s barn. Meanwhile, his brother too was lying awake and thinking about him. “I have a wife and children to take care of me in my old age, but my brother has no one. I shall give him more grain so that he can make more money and save for his future,” he thought. That same night he left a bag of wheat in his bachelor brother’s barn. Next morning, each brother was surprised by the sight of an additional bag of wheat. Assuming it was a mistake, the two left more wheat bags on the second night. On the third night, the two brothers decided to leave a huge bounty for the other.
Accordingly, both loaded their carts with wheat bags. Half-way through, they passed each other. Recognising each other and acknowledging the love that impelled them to act in this manner, the brothers embraced one another.
Moral: The happiness of giving is greater than that of taking
